12- Flowers

New York: Contrasting emotions

I went to the Commission on the Status of Women in New York City last week.
I learned that I am apart of a big world that has many issues.

No one is worthless.
...but I can't help feeling so sometimes.

(1)
(2)
The world I was entering into.

Going to New York City made me appreciate the space between myself and surroundings.

Journal: Whole Foods in NY
So I left New York and am back in Kansas City.
Have you ever met someone who makes you feel so shitty you want to crawl up in a little ball and die?
Yeah, I'm working through that right now.

I'm having a hard time moving around.
I have so much to say
but my thoughts get stuck inside my head.
motionless.

When I walked into Whole Foods I was greeted by piles of beautiful flowers.
Flowers are serene.
I want to get married in a field of daisies
and always have a vase of them on my kitchen table.
Flowers are inviting
and always die.

Listen to Regina Spektor's song "Flowers" you'll get what I mean

11- I don't want to fold my laundry

"Are You Okay?"
I'm disappointed you don't accept me for who I am.
I do not want to change you.
I do not want to change myself.
Whatever
Jouuuurnal
Left: "Set yourself free
because we are all worth so much"
Right: "Don't you want to be connected?"

When I think about life I want to cry because our existence is so fragile.
Sometimes I feel bombarded with negative energy and I want to escape it.
This is another example of learning to work through uneasiness.
Nothing lasts forever.

10- Process

"You'll Be Fine"
Sweet soft confirmation that everything will be alright.
Moving in all different directions
WTF am I doing?
My feet and painting
I like to take pictures of my feet because it reminds me of where I have been.
Trying to get used to my creative process.

Come to Kansas City Academy's Art Exhibition on April 4, 2014 at Main Street Gallery (1610 Main Street, KCMO) and look at my art (and maybe buy it.)

9- Be You

"Be You"

I want you to be happy with the decisions you make in your life.
I hope you take care of yourself and are kind to the people around you.
My life is hectic right now, but things are getting accomplished. 2014 has been filled with contemplative moments. I am trying to embrace myself and realize everyone has imperfections. We are all imperfect human beings who deserve chances to fall in love, succeed, and be content.
Step outside of yourself and realize everyone has issues. Embrace it. Apathy is so unattractive.

7- (un)Descriptive

Conscious hypocrite

At first I called this painting "Unconscious hypocrite"
But that made me conscious of my hypocrisy.

I don't always recycle.
"The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain"

An actress quoted this in an interview with Oprah.
It really struck a chord in me because I have experienced a lot of sadness.
But there have also been moments in my life where I can't stop smiling and there isn't a sad bone in my body.
Along with joy, gratitude fills that empty space because I am doing the best I can.
I think everybody is.

The feelings of loss
failure
and uncertainty are worth it.
Because my experience with joy and sadness will even out in the end.

6- Mistakes

It's okay. We all make mistakes.
but keep holding that grudge.
(If you want to)

Yo, everyone is human.
